Lost Landscapes Under Derwent Edge

Lost Landscapes Under Derwent Edge - Saturday 20 April 2024

Lost Landscapes Under Derwent Edge - Saturday 20 April 2024

7.5 miles

Beyond this watery landscape lies evidence of old farmsteads and medieval settlements where people made a life in a harsh environment.

We combine old routes and pathways to visit the quieter woods and moors above Ladybower Reservoir, passing the site of the flooded village of Derwent, taking in some surprising art to travel back from wartime to medieval. Undefined paths over rough pasture with some steep descents and a chance to glimpse a mountain blackbird or mountain hare.

Event Grade: Moderate: moderate walks on ground with sometimes rough and uneven terrain and gradients.
