Hidden Secrets of Monsal Dale - Sunday 27 September
6 miles
Monsal Head, overlooking the historic Headstone Viaduct and Monsal Dale is one of the most photographed sites in the Peak District - and rightly so! Expect gorgeous views of a quintessential Peak District Dale with the beautiful River Wye running through dramatic limestone scenery.
We walk to Little Longstone, along the Monsal Trail and over the viaduct, before following an easy path through Monsal Dale. A steep climb is then rewarded by great views. Climbs will be taken at a very steady pace with lots of time for rests and photography. We descend past an old lead mine before returning to Monsal Head.
