The Summit of Shutlingsloe, Cheshire's Matterhorn - Saturday 4 April

Climb the 'Cheshire Matterhorn' ! A stroll through Macclesfield Forest crossing local moorland, followed by a climb to the summit of Shutlingsloe. Spectacular views.  An added bonus is that Shutlingsloe is an 'Ethel'.  If this is your first Ethel, there are 94 more high points in the Peak District to visit, speak to your Rangers.

Event Grade: Hard - longer more challenging walks with ascents and descents and rough terrain.

 

Extra Items: Please be prepared for high winds !  Wear good boots.

 

Event Terrain: A steep climb to the top. Short sections rough, but mostly good paths.

Meeting Point: Trentabank Ranger Centre. Toilets available at meeting point.
