A great chance to experience the high moors and walk a classic section of the Pennine Way to Black Hill Summit. It's the Easter Holidays and fit, active families are welcome! Great views of the Longdendale Valley. Experience some of the wildest places on your doorstep!
Amongst the Special Qualities of the National Park are the vital benefits that flow beyond our boundary. We will see how restoring the moors combats global warming and reduces flood risk, as well as benefiting nature.
Walk Grade and Terrain. The walk is graded as Hard. The first 4 miles are mostly up hill with steep sections, rough underfoot and with some exposed vertical drops to the side. The return will be wet and boggy. You will need good walking boots and waterproofs. Bring lunch, snacks and a hot drink.

Parking: Free, but please arrive early as this small car park fills fast. Toilets: nearby at start of walk.
