This six-mile walk provides excellent views of the Kinder Plateau; descends through some atmospheric woodland; and tells the story of the controversial construction of Kinder Reservoir and of the Kinder Trespass.

 

Event Grade: Moderate - sometimes rough and uneven ground and gradients. 

 

Event Terrain: Some steep ascents with several stream crossings and rough moorland walking.

 

Extra Items: Waterproofs, strong walking boots/shoes; food and drink for the day.

 

Start: 10:00am but please arrive early to find a parking space. Finish: 4:00pm

 

Meeting Point: Bowden Bridge Car Park, 165 Kinder Road, Hayfield. The car park is located opposite the entrance to the Caravan and Camping Club site. Toilets available at the start of the walk.

Parking:  The P+D car park is small and fills up quickly.  Parking is available along the approach road but it will be busy, so allow additional time for the possibility of having to park some distance away. 

 

Cost: £15 per person. Children aged 17 and below go free .
