The old railway viaduct on the Monsal Trail over the river Wye is the location of Bridge 75, where licenced outdoor professionals take groups abseiling from purpose built points, down to the river valley below. Please note, this viaduct is located closely to the west of Millers Dale, and is not the Headstone (Monsal Head) Viaduct visible from Monsal Head and Monsal Dale. Licences are not available for this location.

Most licences are purchased annually and following payment, submission & acceptance of required insurance, a permit will be issued, running from 1 January to 31 December.

  1. There are three permit types:
  2. Tariff Group 1 Commercial Annual Permit - This is an annual permit which runs from 1 January to 31 December. This offers unlimited access to Bridge 75 for organisations who charge their clients. A commercial fee of £200 per annum.
  3. Tariff Group 2 Commercial Occasional (fewer than 3 times a year) Permit - This is a daily permit which is purchased for use on a specified date. If you visit more three times a year (3x £60 = £180), it’s more economical to purchase an annual permit. A commercial fee of £60 per visit.
  4. Tariff Group 3 Non-Commercial / Voluntary Sector / Youth Groups / Local Authority Permit - This is an annual permit which runs from 1 January to 31 December. This offers unlimited access to Bridge 75 for organisations who are NOT charging their clients. (Non-commercial means the organisation running the abseiling, not the clients).
