Geology has had a significant impact on the social history of the Goyt Valley. The Romans were here because of the minerals found in the valley. Later, industrial sites provided much needed employment outside farming.
Come along and experience the moorland and open space and hopefully see Liverpool Cathedral 42 miles away.
Walk is 7 miles [11.5 kms] and some 1400 feet of ascent.
Event Grade: Moderate to Hard - longer more challenging walks usually with ascents and descents and rough terrain.
Extra Items: We are on the high hill so weather can change so please bring suitable wet weather gear and boots as well as packed lunch.
Event Terrain: Rough but well marked tracks and paths on the moor and within woodland.

Dogs: Dogs on leads allowed. You are on open access land where dogs must be on leads at all times.
Cost: £10 per person aged 18 and above. Children aged 17 and below go free on any suitable event but must be capable of this type of walk.
