Join our Community and Conservation Archaeologist and Rangers on a walk through the beautiful landscape of the South West Peak, taking in a segment of the Manifold Valley. We will see caves, prehistoric burial mounds, earthworks of Romano-British and medieval field systems, post-medieval lead mining remains and some fabulous architecture including the ruined 16th century Throwley Old Hall.
Event Terrain: Quiet lanes, and paths, undulating with a few steep climbs and one steep descent.
Event Grade: Moderate - moderate walks on ground with sometimes rough and uneven terrain and gradients.
Extra items: Bring own drink & pack lunch, suitable clothing & footwear. Minimum age 8yrs.
Start: 10.00am Finish: 16.00pm (Please arrive at 9.45am for prompt 10am start.)
